The 4th EU Investment Forum

The 4th "2023 EU Investment Forum" held on October 12, 2023, was a significant event with an investment fair, co-hosted by the European Economic and Trade Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Economic Affairs, with execution by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). The forum primarily focused on the semiconductor and ICT industries, attracting more than 300 industry representatives and gained significant media coverage with over 80 reports from domestic and international media. Filip Grzegorzewski, Head of the European Economic and Trade Office, emphasized the rapid growth of Taiwan's investment in Europe over the past four years, attributing it to trust and shared values between the two regions. He highlighted Europe's highly innovative industries and its readiness to integrate Taiwanese companies into supply chains. He also mentioned the potential opportunities presented by the EU Semiconductor Act. The EU is Taiwan's fourth-largest trading partner, and both regions are core partners that share common values. President Tsai underscored the commitment of both Taiwan and Europe to building resilient semiconductor supply chains. She highlighted Taiwan's chip manufacturing capabilities and expertise as essential components of achieving supply chain resilience. Overall, the "2023 EU Investment Forum" served as a platform for strengthening economic ties and cooperation between Taiwan and Europe, with a particular emphasis on the semiconductor and ICT industries. It also aimed to provide valuable insights and guidance to companies interested in investing in the European market.
