2023 EU-Taiwan Seminar on Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism
The European Union officially announced the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) plan on 14 July 2021. CBAM will enter its transitional phase in October 2023. It will prevent carbon leakage to ensure the effectiveness of the EU climate policy. CBAM contributes to de-carbonisation globally and to reaching climate neutrality by 2050. In response to global warming, the Taiwan government also passed the "Climate Change Response Act" this January. A new era of carbon pricing is upon us.The EU-Taiwan Seminar on Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism will invite policymakers from the European Commission and the Taiwan government to present the CBAM plan and policies to reduce carbon emissions. Speakers from Taiwanese businesses will share their experiences in adapting to net zero global trends, challenges and opportunities brought by CBAM. Seats are limited, so please register now!
