2022 EU-Taiwan Seminar on Design Protection

In response to the importance of design protection. The European Economic Trade Office (EETO) and the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) organized the 2022 EU-Taiwan Seminar on Design Protection on 9th March, 2022 (Wed.) at the GIS MOTC Convention Center.

The seminar was opened by Filip Grzegorzewski, Head of the European Economic and Trade Office (EETO). Speakers, including Adriana (Rianne) van Rooden (Policy Officer at DG GROW, European Commission), Stephan Hanne (Policy Officer at DG Trade, European Commission), Pieter Veeze (Senior Lawyer at the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property, BOIP), Ming-Feng Hsu (Senior Patent Examiner of TIPO) and Professor Chung-Hsin Chang (Assistant Professor at Soochow University) shared the latest development of design protection and the opportunities and challenges brought by the interaction between copyright and design protection under the global trend of digitalization.

The event was held in a hybrid format, and attracted around 200 participants to join this seminar.
