2021 EU Investment Forum-Roadshow
Three roadshows were held in Hsinchu, Taichung and Tainan following the online 2021 EU Investment Forum on 14 October 2021. The themes of the events were digital economy on 8 November, smart machinery on 9 November and green economy on the 12th. The events were organized by the European Economic and Trade Office (EETO), Ministry Economic Affairs and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), in association with the city governments of Hsinchu, Taichung and Tainan, and business associations. More than 300 participants combined attended the three roadshows. As they were all investors interested in the EU, the events resulted in lively exchanges and discussions.
During the seminars, Dr. Thomas Juergensen, Senior Expert and the Head of Trade Section of the EETO introduced the latest policies and industrial strategies under Digital Europe and the European Green Deal, while Member States presented their countries’ latest industrial trends and advantages offered to investors. Taiwanese experts, too, offered their insights. Local experts in the three events were Mr. Terry Tsao, SEMI’s Global Chief Marketing Officer and President of Taiwan Office; Mr. Lin Chin-yu, General Manager of Intelligent Manufacturing & Data Services Division of Fair Friend Group and Dr. Kristy Hsu, Director of Taiwan ASEAN Studies Center, Chung-Hua Instition for Economic Research. Participants could also visit the Member States’ booths in the adjoining exhibition areas to better understand each country’s industial policies and incentive programmes so that they can become early adopters of international trends and successfully GoEurope.
